Southport Bombua Community Project

Southport Church of Christ is leading a project to build a Community Center at Bombua, Santo, Vanuatu. The centre will be an essential evacuation point during the devastating cyclone season.

The centre will be located in an area that has increased in population significantly over the past few years. The local community includes refugees from evacuated islands. Many people reside in shack housing and have limited safe shelter options during the cyclone season.

Additionally, population growth creates a need for spaces to hold activities that support a healthy community, especially for the large youth population. We have committed to partnering with the local community and raising funds to purchase materials to finish this site so that it can withstand the devastating cyclone season.

From 10/10/24-24/10/24 a team of builders and engineers will spend two weeks completing the preparation of the Community Centre/ Evacuation Site. This stage of the project will be self-funded. The local church has already designated land and built the foundations and walls. They are raising funds to complete the work and ready the building for use.

We are seeking to raise $40,000 to purchase materials, and we need your help. Through Global Mission Partners, we have set up a fund for people like yourself to make tax-deductible donations to this project. Would you consider making this project one of the things you give to in 2024?
